'Ako Mismo' Dog Tag Day

DDB Cares, one of the leading advertising agencies in the Philippines has successfully launched their first event the Ako Mismo Dog Tag Day last June 12, 2009 at the Fort Bonifacio Global City Open Field. It was a benefit concert event for their chosen charity organizations. The Cancer Institute Foundation, Inc. (CIF) for the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Cancer Institute (CI) and the Cervical Cancer Prevention Network (CECAP) was invited by DDB Cares to be one of the beneficiary partners of the campaign.

More than 40,000 people joined the launch of the Ako Mismo Dog Tag Day. The concert was packed by the hottest bands such as Bamboo, Ely Buendia and Pupil, the Dawn, Kamikaze, Kjwan, Up Dharma Down, and many more.

Dr. Cecilia Ladines-Llave, UP-PGH CI Chair and Program Director of the CIF's Concept of Healing Projects, was interviewed by hosts Mark Abaya and Ramon Bautista during the benefit concert. Dr. Llave introduced and presented what CIF for CI and CECAP is all about and how the organizations help the cancer patients especially those who are financially inept.

During the event, there were also different fun interactive booths such as Henna Tattooing, Face Painting, Ako Kiss Mo booth, food, beverage, photo and video booths courtesy of McDonald's, Pepsi, Mail and More and others. The CIF for CI and CECAP also had a booth where C3 and Ako Mismo merchandises could be purchased. Proceeds from these booths would go to the assistance of the partner beneficiaries of Ako Mismo.
